The Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum is organizing a national conference on Emerging issues in public health during January 11-13, 2008 at Trivandrum. We are planning to offer some scholarships based on the abstracts submitted to the conference. Abstracts should be structured (background, Methods, Results and conclusions) and not more than 250 words. The deadline for the abstract submission is October 15, 2007. We will provide you more information on the conferene in a seperate website soon. Abstracts topics include communicable diseases, maternal and perinatal conditions, nutritional problems (Day one) noncommunicable diseases and risk factors (day two) and health systems and human resources for public health (day three). Best Doctor Award - 2006 was presented to Dr. Thomas Mathew, Professor, Community Medicine, Medical College, Alappuzha by hon′ble Minister for Health &Social Welfare, Kerala, at the Doctor′s Day Celebrations on 01.07.2007 in recognition and appreciation of his excellent and meritorious services rendered for the community to control the epidemic situation in South Kerala during 2007.
