Effective management for maternal complications and neonatal problems are the need a of the hour to bring down very high maternal and neonatal mortality rates in the country.

With RCH-II implementation there is renewed emphasis on skilled attendance at birth. In this context, publication of this manual is very timely and relevant. This 211 pages manual, published in simple Hindi language with lots of illustrations is a comprehensive, self comprehendible guide.

Like a good recipe book all minor steps for dealing with the most important maternal and neonatal conditions have been meticulously worked out. Authors have even given guidelines for preparedness required even before the delivery has taken place. Procedure for taking blood pressure and reconding partograph have been described in detail, comprehensive checklists for providing antenatal, natal & postnatal care have been given.

For the compilation of this book, authors have consulted 16 standard publications.

Thus this comprehensive resource with good quality print, reasonable font and volume is a must for all obstetric and neonatal care practioners trainers and students.
